Kits News - 15th December 2022
The Kits have had a great last week of term. The snow on Monday morning was a very exciting surprise and we loved exploring and playing with it in our Outdoor Learning Environment. We made snow balls and a snowman and the children were fascinated to see how it slowly turned hard and observed how it transformed into ice as the week progressed.
Over the last few weeks we had been exploring materials and changing properties so it was great for the children to be able to see these changes in the environment around them too! We also had a lot of fun driving the ride-on trucks through the snow and we explored the sound it made as we walked and drove over it.
We loved our Christmas Party on Wednesday where ‘Fred the Elf’ came to visit the nursery! We were very excited to watch his magic show and he made us laugh when he got things wrong. He also did a funny puppet show with Father Christmas and his not so helpful reindeer ‘Smelly’ who delivered all the presents to the wrong children! It was a good job that Father Christmas was there to help sort it out. We also enjoyed the parachute that ‘Fred the Elf’ brought. The children were very good at listening to his instructions to hold the edge of the parachute and shook it gently and then fast! Once they did that they had turns to crawl on top of the parachute before lying underneath it, which was great fun as it went up and down
Finally, on Thursday at the end of the term, we were very excited and proud to have our families and friends come and watch us in our Nativity Play in the church. The children in the Kits were cast as ‘Shepherds’, ‘Angels’ and ‘Kings’ and they looked wonderful dressed in their costumes. They sat on the stage beautifully and sang their songs with gusto. We are very proud of all of them and we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
