We are so pleased to be back after the Easter holidays, and without hesitation, we’ve fully settled back into the swing of things.

Our topic this week has been all about the farm, in preparation for our upcoming trip to Deen City Farm. Farm animals were incorporated into many of our activities, including small world and sensory play, as well as our Focus and Circle times.

Our particular focus was on extending the children's vocabulary by learning the names of animals and their young, matching them together, and identifying the animals' habitats. We distinguished between different animals by the sounds they make and went on a community walk to listen to environmental sounds. We noticed that birds each have their own songs, leaves rustle in the wind, and different types of transport all sound unique too.
