Kits News - 22nd March 2024

The Kits had a wonderful last week of term, filled with Easter themed activities. Our topic book was What Small Rabbit Heard and, as well as celebrating Easter, we have been focusing on developing our listening and attention skills.

In Drama on Monday we played the gam ‘Sleeping Bunnies’ and the children listened to the song, waiting for when they could start jumping. In Dance with Miss Jade on Tuesday we explored lots of different Easter props such as bunny ears and chick masks and the children loved dancing to the music, pretending to be different creatures and moving in different ways such as walking on their tiptoes and marching.

We have been talking about Easter throughout the week as we decorated Easter Eggs for our end of term folder covers and explored a selection of Easter objects in our Communication and Language Focus Time. The children all took turns to look at the different objects and with support from their teachers they shared them well. We talked about the objects in details and developed the children’s vocabulary as we used adjectives such as fluffy, woolly, soft and hard to describe them.

On Tuesday we had our annual Easter Bonnet Parade. The children were absolute superstars and proudly wore the bonnets they made with their Mummies a couple of weeks before. They walked beautifully down the road, waving to their parents as they saw them and then finally on the way back we visited the pensioners of the ‘Dew Drop Inn’ to show them their bonnets too.

On the last day of term, we had an Easter hunt as we searched for healthy treats in the garden and placed them in our special Easter baskets which we made in Art.

It has been a wonderful Spring Term and we look forward to seeing all the children back after the Easter holidays.
