Squirrels News - 22nd March 2024

This week we have been thinking about Ramadan and we were exceptionally lucky to have one of the children’s Mummy’s come in to share a story book with us all about Ramadan. She even brought dates for us to try, which is the food used to break the fast along with a glass of water. We were all very impressed that everyone tried the dates and all of the children said they enjoyed them, some even asked for a second!

With Ramadan in mind and the popularity of the dates we went on a community walk to buy some more. The children had a great time spotting dates in the local fruit and veg shop before we went inside to purchase one for everyone in the class. We continued to speak and learn about Ramadan as we went on our walk.

In other activities this week, we have been on a lovely Easter adventure in Dance with Miss Jade where the children dressed up as butterflies, chicks and rabbits. In Spanish with Miss Rosana we continued to learn numbers to ten, colours and farm animals.

Everyone was very excited for our Outdoor Learning Day this week as we went on an Easter Egg Hunt. The children listened to the rules exceptionally well. Everyone had to find the other half of their patterned egg. If they found somebody else’s egg they were to leave it where it was for that person to find. The children were so excited and happily went off on their search after snack. If children asked for help the others helped them look and it was a lovely team effort. What a wonderfully busy week!
